Privacy Policy
Go Regional is designed to provide regional train and coach service information with minimal data collection.
Information we collect
Go Regional does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or payment details.
If you choose to use location features, your device may ask for location permission. Location is used on your device to show nearby map context or centre the map. We do not sell your location data.
If you choose to use notification features, the app may store your selected service and stop reminder preferences on your device so it can schedule trip reminders. You can turn notifications off in the app or in your device settings.
Ticket scanning and import
Ticket import is optional. You can take a photo, choose an image or PDF, or enter your trip manually. Camera access is requested only when you choose to take a photo. Ticket images, PDFs and recognised text are processed on your device and are not uploaded to Go Regional or Google.
Only the journey fields needed to find and follow your trip are used. Passenger names, booking references and ticket identifiers are not saved as journey history. Temporary processing copies are removed after use; original files and photos remain under your control. Locally saved trip preferences can be removed by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it.
On iOS, recognition uses Apple's on-device frameworks. On Android, Google ML Kit performs on-device text recognition. ML Kit separately sends technical diagnostics and usage metrics to Google, including device and app information, a per-installation identifier, processing latency, feature events and error codes. It does not send your ticket content or recognised text. These metrics are encrypted in transit and used to operate, maintain and improve the SDK, not to provide advertising in Go Regional. See ML Kit privacy information and Android SDK data disclosures.
Service and diagnostic data
The app may request timetable, live status, and alert information from the Go Regional API. Standard server logs may include technical information such as request time, response status, user agent, and approximate network information. These logs are used to operate, secure, and improve the app.
The app may save timetable, language, recent route, and notification preferences locally on your device to make the app work offline and keep your settings between sessions.
Third-party data sources
Go Regional uses transport data and links to official transport resources where available.
Official information sources
